Aurangabad Silk Mills began its proceedings in 1925, with a small-scale unit setup by Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan. As the firm witnessed rapid success, He perceived the limitations of hand-looms and introduced power-looms to satisfy larger requirements in smaller time limits. Since then the firm has evolved leaps and bounds to become today India’s major Manufacturer & exporter of Himroo varieties.

The prides of our products are the Himroo shawls & bedcovers. We take the pleasure of bringing to you the world famous Himroo form of art, which originated in Aurangabad, in the period of Emperor Mohammad Tughlaq, when he had shifted his capital from Delhi to Daulatabad in 1327.

Himroo, The word Himroo is derive from the Persian word Hum-ruh hich means ‘Similar’. Himroo is the replica of the rich Kum-khwab which was woven by the pure golden and silver threads in olden days.

The designs for Himroo were Persian. Himroo weaving is very characteristic and distinctive. Aurangabad Himroo was used by the royal families. Himroo from Aurangabad is much in demand for their unique style and design. Now days there are very few weavers making Himroo shawls & Bed Sheets.

INFRASTRUCTURE:

Our production unit is fully equipped to undertake in house production with 10 handlooms, 30 jacquards looms and 14 dobby looms. We also have an in-house finishing, packaging, twisting, dyeing and designing units to ensure timely delivery of all our shipments. Our set up enables us to maintain the desired quality and is offered at affordable price range, which our competitors find difficult to match.
